Risk-Based Planning: Starting Extending Adding Details Hazard Assessment Vulnerability&Assets | Previous Next |
Adding Details to the Analysis of Risk-Based Planning In the sketch shown on the left, we have added a number of requirements and research needs that feed into the many applications at the third level below risk-based planning. It seems like it would be possible to continue to use the global approach at that level to capture most of the applications and requirements. However, adding in user types and various other needs would easily render the sketch unreadable. We have used the application early warning as an example to illustrate a local approach to the construction of the environment of this application, see Early Warning example. Here we discuss the three applications under risk mapping and assessment as examples of a combined local and global approach. Hazard assessment should provide all information and spatial distribution and probability of hazards. Vulnerability and Assets adds the additional information needed to carry out a risk assessment. |
