2nd GEOSS Science and Technology Stakeholder Workshop GEOSS: Supporting Science for the Millennium Development Goals and Beyond Bonn, Germany, August 28—31, 2012

Alisher Mirzabaev is a PhD student at the Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, where he is now finalizing his thesis on the “Impacts of Climate Volatility and Change on Central Asia”, including his native Uzbekistan. Before joining the PhD program, he had worked for several years as economic researcher at the Regional office of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) for Central Asia and the Caucasus. His main research interests are in issues related with climate change, land degradation, and sustainable land and water management.
