Rick Lawford

Rick Lawford is a Senior Scientist at Morgan State University (Baltimore, MD) and a consultant to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency on the water aspects of the Global Earth Observing System of Systems (GEOSS). He is a member of the Science Committee for the Global Water System Project (GWSP) and serves as the lead on the Water-Energy-Food nexus study. He also chairs the Integrated Global Water Cycle Observing Community of Practice. He is a former Director of the International Project Office for the Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment and has worked on water and climate issues in both Canada and the United States as a program manager, research manager, policy advisor, physical scientist, research meteorologist. national and regional division chief and weather forecaster.
